An Apology of Sorts

I honestly have no idea how some of my blogging friends do it. That is, updates at least once a day, awesome responses to feedback and comments and thousands of hits a day. It appears relatively easy for them sometimes, even though, I’m really learning it’s not at all. When I started this blog I really didn’t think anyone would really read it or that I’d get any substantial hits. I really just started a blog back up because I love to journal, I love coding, I love designing and I love photographing and documenting life. And somehow over the past few months this has really become a full time job for me. Which is something I was totally unprepared for. I’ve never done anything so involved or all-consuming before.

I spend my days trying to find that balance that I haven’t gotten quite right yet between family, friends, art, networking, school, college, blogs, emails, photos, living, eating and breathing! I’m just really excited that this website and all my other little projects have kind of grown into things that I know I will be working on for a while. I just want to apologize also for not being 100% consistent with my responses to your emails, comments and feedback. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I read everything you send me. But somehow I now receive between 80-110 emails a day. I’d say about half of it is junk and the rest is either information I need to keep or people I need to respond to. Every day I try to find the time to get back to everyone that writes me, but before that I try to write a post or two, read and comment on other blogs, and have a school/social life as well.

It has been a little difficult for me to adjust to this new approach to my days. I try to pack in as much as I can before hitting the hay at sometimes 3 or 4 in the morning, beat beyond belief. So I just want everyone to know that I’m no expert blogger, and I’m not the most prompt responder (I can’t hide those facts as much as I’d like to), but I want you all to know that I’m trying my best and I will continue everyday to try to find the time to do those extra things that are always on the bottom of my to-do lists. Truthfully, I love blogging. But that doesn’t mean it’s completely easy for me. It just means I’ll work damn hard to do my best everyday.

Enjoy? Let's get cozy over coffee.

Hi Joodie! Wow, I'm sorry, I had no idea of the time invoved in keeping a blog going. I don't know how you do it...the lack of sleep alone must be overwhelming. Maybe you could just post once a week...announce that evey Thursday, say, you will make a new post. Maybe one-day-a-week would be do-able. And that would help control some of the flow of e-mail, too...you might have a few days a week, around the time of the new post, where you receive a lot of mail, and then it would taper off until the next post, the next week. But really, Joodie, with all you have going on in your personal life, you shouldn't have to feel that you owe us anything, beyond the occassional post, or e-mail. You have to take care of your real-world self first....you really don't owe us more than a tiny slice of your time.
I hope you are well, and really, take care of yourself, first, ok? Bye for now, Joodie, and take care, ok? xoxo, CR

Oh! I'd meant to mention, if you were to post just once a week, you wouldn't even have to fel like a deadline looming...you could write a post the first part of the week, and then just save it for Posting Day! And I don't think a true fan of yours would mind only hearing from you once a week...they would be happy that it gave you more free time, and that they were still hearing from you regularly! Just my thoughts...anyone else out there have any thoughts on how Joodie can get a bit more of her life back??

I agree with Chris...post once a week...use the other times to have a real life. \/\/ Above everything else....HAVE FUN!!!!
